Introduction to Management for Teachers

The course aims to offer teachers an insight into management for teachers and, in particular, how everyone plays a part in managing a school environment. It explores key aspects of management such as communication, performance, conflict management, people management, motivation, task and time management and decision-making techniques.

Participants will explore key management techniques, in particular, distributed leadership, and its application to the operation of a school in the context of school improvement.

Introduction to SSE – School Self Evaluation

On completion of this course, you will have the skills necessary to apply the School Self-Evaluation Process to the work that you do. You will understand how to identify a focus, how to gather evidence and the kind of evidence needed for the analysis stage of the six-stage process. You will learn how close your practice is to the statements of effective practice and if you are moving towards highly effective practice. From there, you will learn how to develop an improvement plan and put that improvement plan into action. You will also learn what is involved in the monitoring and evaluation stage of the process and what to focus on next.

Restorative Practice (RP) for a Positive Classroom & School Environment

The purpose of this course is to introduce Restorative Practice (RP) and to pique your interest in the process of implementing RP in your classroom and school. You will be enabled to attempt the application of some of the techniques of the restorative practice, enough hopefully to whet your appetite for further professional development and training in the area.

This Communications course will teach you how to communicate efficiently and effectively in an educational setting and build your communication skills in a comprehensive range of everyday tasks.
